My Story

I was introduced to Jesus at a young age and was blessed to grow up in a family that made Him a priority.  My relationship with Him took a pivotal turn in college.  In that season, He set me free from some deep-rooted issues that had held me in bondage for years and helped truths that I had heard for so long finally start to take root.
I fell in love with the Young Life ministry two summers ago during our area’s first summer camp trip to Lake Champion. On this trip God began filling my heart with an overwhelming desire to invest more of my time into the work He was doing here. I have been amazed by how He has changed my heart’s desire from the perceived security I thought I had found in my previous job to a longing to step out of the boat and be a part of this grand adventure of bringing Young Life College to Lord Fairfax.
The Mission
We are so excited for the adventures and challenges ahead as we launch this new ministry to reach the more than 7,000 students at LFCC, and we are so grateful for your consideration to partner with us to expand into new territory and win others for Christ!

The Vision
Over the next three years, my goals are as follows:
  • Through prayer and training, build a team of adult volunteer leaders who are passionate about reaching college students for Christ.
  • Create a discipleship and training program for LFCC students to grow in their faith and equip them to lead in Wyldlife and Young Life high school ministries .
  • Know 500 students by name.
  • Have 75 students attending weekly club meetings.
  • Hold 3 separate weekly campaigner meetings held on the Middletown, Fauquier, and Luray campuses, averaging 20-30 students per location.
Area Overview
Warren County Young Life is currently in both Skyline and Warren County high schools as well as the Warren County Middle School.
What we’ve found over the past few years is that in every graduating class a handful of the students that we know and love have chosen to stay in the area and attend the local Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC).  During this transition, many of our graduating students have expressed how much they have missed Young Life and the difficulty they have experienced finding meaningful community and purpose in this new stage of life.  God has been moving in our hearts to build Young Life College at LFCC and meet the needs of these students who are aching for the significance and love that comes from knowing and following Jesus.
About Young Life
Young Life is a world-class organization for adolescents. Our staff and volunteers enter the world of kids, focusing on what matters to them — fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance. In doing so, we earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we believe matters most of all — the truth about God and His love for them.

Regardless of a students’ religious background, Young Life College offers a fun, accepting community to be a part of while exploring or deepening their faith.  As caring adults venture with them, college students are nurtured, guided and encouraged to become young adults who are committed followers of Jesus Christ.
